Like other credit cards, discover card is also credit card. It was issued in 1985 by sears and after this it was included in discover financial company in 1993 whose name was Dean Witter financial company. It was used in USA. Before 2004, it can not be used by banks but after court's order, all USA banks are allowed to issue it. In 2005 it was acquired by Pulse Company.
Wikipedia says, “Discover card has over 50 million cardmembers and it has 4 million merchant. It also serves more than 45 banks. But it has also one shortcoming that it can not be issued and accepted outside US.
Now, this discover card is slowly using in UK and Canada’s some parts but it is not used in India. After searching Discover card’s official website, “I came to know that it did venture agreement in August 19, 2009 with Infotek for providing single source electronic payment services for the acceptance of Diners Club which was purchased in April 2008 after paying $165 million and Discover cards across key merchant categories like Restaurants, Hotels, Airlines, Travel agents and major retail outlets in India.”
